Event Announcement:
ACT OUT Night
Calling all aspiring actors and performers!
We’ve got karaoke for singers, open mics for stand-up comics, and jam sessions for musicians. But where do actors go to practice and perform?
Introducing ACT OUT Night, a safe and supportive space for actors to shine. Whether you’re an experienced actor looking to try a new character or someone who’s never acted before, this is your chance to take the stage.
Here’s what to expect:
• Acting Performances: For the first half of the evening, it’s all about acting. Bring a monologue you’ve worked on or choose one from our provided selection. Memorized or not, it’s your call. And remember, feedback is entirely up to you—no unsolicited critiques allowed.
• After Party Performances: The second half opens up to other art forms. Sing a Broadway tune, test out new stand-up material, or even perform a bit of drag. This is your time to explore and express.
ACT OUT Night isn’t just about performing; it’s about building a community where everyone feels encouraged and celebrated. So, step out of your comfort zone and join us for a night of creativity, fun, and applause.
Because who knows where it might lead? At the very least, it’s a lot more exciting than performing in front of your bathroom mirror. Let’s ACT OUT together!

Event Details
The Marion Oaks Community Beautification Team is excited to announce the 3rd Annual Community Bulk Trash Pick-Up, scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This is a fantastic opportunity for residents to declutter their homes and yards and contribute to a cleaner, more beautiful Marion Oaks.
The event will be held on the grounds of the Marion Oaks Community Center, located at 294 Marion Oaks Lane, Ocala, FL 34473.
So, gather up all those unwanted items you’ve been meaning to dispose of and prepare for a day of decluttering!
Residents are encouraged to load up their trailers, trucks, and cars with unwanted bulk items and bring them to the designated drop-off point at the Community Center.
The best part? You can make as many trips as you need!
This initiative provides a convenient and environmentally responsible way for residents to dispose of large items that are often difficult to manage through regular trash collection services. By participating, you’re not only freeing up space in your home but also contributing to the overall aesthetics and wellbeing of the Marion Oaks community.
“We are thrilled to bring back the Bulk Trash Pick-Up for its third year,” said a representative from the Marion Oaks Community Beautification Team.
“This event is a testament to the community’s commitment to maintaining a clean and beautiful environment.
We encourage all residents to take advantage of this opportunity and help us make Marion Oaks a place we can all be proud of.”
For any questions or further information regarding the event, please contact Miguel Sanchez at 787-309-3014.
The Marion Oaks Community Beautification Team extends a sincere thank you to all the sponsors who have made this event possible.
Their support is vital in ensuring the success of the Bulk Trash Pick-Up and its positive impact on the community.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and let’s work together to keep Marion Oaks beautiful!

ABOUT THE SHOW: Fairytales tell the truth: Everyone is wishing for something. Curses can last for generations. No one is alone. And children will listen. This magical musical weaves together the tales of Jack and his beanstalk, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red, a baker and his wife, and a powerful witch. But be careful what you wish for… even a storybook ending isn’t what it seems. From once upon a time to the last midnight, it’s an enchanting journey.
ROLES AVAILABLE
• Narrator: Age 10-14. The narrator is the storyteller who speaks directly to the audience. This character helps control the pacing of the show and always needs to be ready for their next entrance, as they pop in and out throughout the story. Role may be double-cast. Vocal range Bb3-D4.
• Jack: Male, age 20-30. The feckless giant killer who is “almost a man.” He is adventurous, naive, energetic, and bright-eyed. Vocal range B2-G4.
• Jack’s Mother: Female, age 45-55. Raising a son and running a farm all by herself has made her a bit frazzled and most definitely overworked. Nagging and weary, she is independent, bold, protective, and strong-willed. Vocal range Bb3-Gb5.
• Baker: Male, age 35-45. Harried and insecure, simple and loving, protective of his family. He wants his wife to be happy and is willing to do anything to ensure her happiness but refuses to let others fight his battles. Vocal range Ab2-G4.
• Baker’s Wife: Female, age 35-45. Determined and bright woman who wishes to be a mother. She leads a simple yet satisfying life and is very low-maintenance yet proactive in her endeavors. Good sense of comedic timing. Vocal range F3-G5.
• Little Red Riding Hood: Female, age 18-20. A spoiled young girl who is strong-willed, quick-witted, and fearless, yet youthful and naive. Vocal range Bb3-F5.
• Witch: Female, age 35-55. An ancient, mysterious, and manipulative woman who will do anything possible to regain her beauty and protect Rapunzel. Vocal range F3-G5.
• Florinda and Lucinda: Female, age 20-30. Cinderella’s stepsisters are spoiled brats who care only about themselves and marrying a prince. Comical and must be able to hold tight harmonies. Vocal range C4-Ab5.
• Mysterious Man: Male, age: 50-65. Just like the name suggests, this is one mysterious man. Everything he does is to help the baker, but he does not explain his motives until the last moment. Vocal range Bb3-D4.
• Wolf: Male, age 30-35. Hungry and insatiable hunter who takes advantage of the weak by misleading and captivating his prey. Usually doubled with Cinderella’s prince. Vocal range Bb2-Gb4.
• Granny: Female, age 50-65. A feisty woman who is not afraid to fight the wolf face to face. Usually the voice of the giant as well. Vocal range Bb3-D5.
• Steward: Male, age 25-40. Ensemble singer. A servant who is used to doing whatever he must to solve a problem. His only care is to please his master or the strongest personality in the room. Conniving, callous, and cowardly. Vocal range B3-D5.
• Cinderella’s Prince: Male, age 30-35. Vain and gorgeous, he is a disloyal lover who is currently searching for the next new, exciting thing, regardless of who he is with. Can double with the wolf. Vocal range B3-D5.
• Cinderella’s Mother: Female, age 40-55. She comforts her daughter as a spirit heard in various songs of the show. Vocal range E4-F4.
• Rapunzel’s Prince: Male, age 30-40. The pompous and arrogant brother of Cinderella’s prince. Just as vain and gorgeous as his brother, he is always chasing the newest, most exiting endeavor. Vocal range C#3-E4.
• Cinderella’s Stepmother: Female, age 40-50. A mean, evil woman who only cares about her daughters Florinda and Lucinda. Vocal range A3-F#5.
• Cinderella: Female, age 20-30. A simple peasant girl whose one wish is to go to the festival. Unfortunately, when her wish comes true she learns that wishes sometimes come with consequences. Her inner beauty always shines through her sometimes clumsy and awkward exterior. She is a young, earnest maiden who is constantly mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters. Vocal range G3-G5.
• Rapunzel/Sleeping Beauty: Female, age 20-30. A loopy but lovely maiden who is sheltered by the witch and terribly lonely. She yearns to experience the world. Vocal range G4-F#5.
• Harp/Snow White: Female, age 18-25. Ensemble. Sings all ensemble numbers. Vocal range G3-G5.
• Woodsman: Male, age 18-25. Ensemble. Sings all ensemble numbers. Vocal range Ab2-G4.
PRE-AUDITION WORKSHOP: There will be two free, optional, pre-audition workshops on Sunday, June 29: 2 p.m. for ages 10-15 (parent/guardian must stay) and 5:30 p.m. for ages 16+. Led by director Greg Thompson and music director Justin Davis, these practical workshops are ideal for both newcomers and experienced performers to meet the show’s creative team, learn about the audition process, and practice your audition song. Bring your sheet music so you can rehearse your audition song. Register for the workshop.
