Journey into the mind of a psychedelic astronaut with a consciousness-expanding comedy experience. At the intersection of science, humor, and psychedelics comes “A Better Trip,” the latest work from Shane Mauss.

Originally a residency at AREA15 in Las Vegas–this hilariously heady event highlights Shane’s personal psychedelic experiences and examines the history, science, and culture of psychedelics. Accompanied by a vivid display of mind-blowing visuals and custom animations that back the entire performance, this one-of-a-kind show articulates the psychedelic experience.

Tampa’s Damon Fowler, a masterful singer, guitar player and songwriter, has absorbed the best of and furthered the work of the region’s definitive artists. A hard driving troubadour, his music is steeped with soul and representative of the many styles that make up the roots of American music.

He gained the respect of his peers given his featured slot in Butch Truck’s Freight Train band and his side gig as guitarist in the Dickey Betts Band. Critics have compared Fowler’s guitar work to Johnny Winter and Jeff Beck, while his slide guitar is reminiscent of the late Duane Allman.

Fowler’s 2021 Landslide Records release, Alafia Moon, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart, spent four months in the Top 20, and was nominated for a BMA in the Blues/Rock category. His follow up record, Damon Fowler & Friends, Live At The Palladium, garnered strong airplay throughout the United States and Europe. The new release, BARNYARD SMILE, featuring 8 new original Fowler compositions plus distinctive covers of Bo Diddley and Jerry Reed tunes, combines all of the influences that have shaped his distinctive blues career.

On the strength of Fowler’s hybrid of roots rock, blues, and sacred steel, the Florida native started wowing audiences with his musical exploits as a teenager, building a reputation as one of the hottest young players on the scene. Adding songwriting and vocal skills to his repertoire over the years has brought him many accolades, with music journalists extolling his originality and maturity as well as his technical guitar expertise. Allmusic.com raved that “Fowler’s creative lap steel work is what sets him apart from the rest of the guitar heroes.”

Renowned jazz vocalist Lisa Kelly returns to the Reilly Art Center with her popular quartet, in a unique presentation with Warburton Trumpet Artist, JB Scott, Jeff Phillips on piano, bass and strings, and Clyde Connor on drums.

This special evening of holiday jazz features creative original arrangements of Christmas hymns and classic songs in interpretive styles of swing, Brazilian Bossa Nova, jazz waltz, shuffling gospel, lovely ballads, easy funk, and New Orleans groove. Songs include What Child is This/Greensleeves, My Favorite Things, Winter Wonderland, We Three Kings, The Christmas Song, and more. With career backgrounds that include the Larry Elgart Orchestra, the New York Pops, the St. Johns River City Band, Walt Disney World theme parks, leading the legendary Dukes of Dixieland, to drumming with the Navy Commodores in D.C, these entertaining artists have headlined jazz clubs, corporate events, major concert halls and jazz festivals. Together, they have toured, recorded, and delighted numerous audiences, regionally to abroad.

Formed in 2014, Rumours ATL has taken the U.S. by storm with their stage scorching renditions of Fleetwood Mac songs. Fans from across the nation claim that Rumours ATL is the band to see if you are looking for an authentic recreation of live Fleetwood Mac shows.

In just under 7 years, Rumours ATL has landed themselves the reputation of being the best Fleetwood Mac Tribute band and additionally has made fans internationally. In the summer of 2019, Rumours ATL was invited to play a week in The Netherlands at some of the top venues and festivals in the country. Rick Snider’s voice masterfully brings all the power and emotion of Phil’s songs to life, and his stage presence makes you believe you’re seeing the real deal. He has performed worldwide for over a million fans. Rick was the original “Robert Plant” for Led-Zepagain. He also supplied the “Steve Perry” vocals touring live with original Journey drummer Aynsley Dunbar. Rick was contracted by Fox Studios to portray Phil Collins on the British TV show “Performing As.” The real left-handed drummer was awarded the first Las Vegas residency given to a tribute band. Rick was also hired to impersonate famous vocalists in the “Monsters of Rock” show on the Las Vegas strip. Now, with extremely talented musicians in their own right, he continues to perform in the “Number One” Genesis and Phil Collins band, In The Air Tonight.

Jeff Rupert has been a performing and recording saxophonist for forty years. Credits include over 75 albums: dates with Diane Schuur, Mel Tormé, Kevin Mahogany, Ernestine Anderson, and Benny Carter’s Grammy winning album, Harlem Renaissance. Jeff Rupert toured for fifteen years with Sam Rivers; four albums ensued, and from 1997- 2002 he toured and recorded with Maynard Ferguson. Jeff Rupert’s eleven recordings as a leader all charted on Jazz Week. Performance venues include the Blue Note, Small’s, Birdland, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, the Tokyo Forum, the National concert hall of Taipei, Taiwan, and jazz festivals throughout Europe, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, and Japan. Rupert’s release Let’s Sail Away with Veronica Swift was #1 on the jazz charts, and his last album The Ripple with George Garzone was the #5 jazz album of the year (2020). This fall Rupert releases It Gets Better, an album with Kenny Barron, Peter Washington, and Joe Farnsworth. As a composer and arranger, Rupert has arranged for Bob Berg, James Moody, Maynard Ferguson, Judy Carmichael, Kenny Drew jr, and Kevin Mahogany. Rupert has produced 7 big band albums for the Flying Horse Big Band, all featuring original compositions and arrangements. Jeff Rupert is Pegasus Distinguished Professor, Trustee Endowed Chair, and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Central Florida (UCF), and founder of Flying Horse Records. The Bat Swings! produced by Rupert (The Flying Horse Big Band), features music from the 60’s T.V Show, Batman. It charted on RMR, JazzWeek, and the NACC jazz charts, and was the #1 jazz album of the week in the U.S. on two charts simultaneously. The Flying Horse Big band’s release Good News! was #1 on the RMR charts, as was the band’s recording celebrating the music of Ray Charles, Florida Rays. Rupert authors and hosts Jazz and the American Spirit, a nationally syndicated weekly radio show, which examines the connection between jazz and the American experience.
