We’ve got karaoke for singers, open mics for stand-up comics, and jam sessions for musicians. But where do actors go to practice and perform?

Introducing ACT OUT Night, a safe and supportive space for actors to shine. Whether you’re an experienced actor looking to try a new character or someone who’s never acted before, this is your chance to take the stage.

Here’s what to expect:

• Acting Performances: For the first half of the evening, it’s all about acting. Bring a monologue you’ve worked on or choose one from our provided selection. Memorized or not, it’s your call. And remember, feedback is entirely up to you—no unsolicited critiques allowed.
• After Party Performances: The second half opens up to other art forms. Sing a Broadway tune, test out new stand-up material, or even perform a bit of drag. This is your time to explore and express.

ACT OUT Night isn’t just about performing; it’s about building a community where everyone feels encouraged and celebrated. So, step out of your comfort zone and join us for a night of creativity, fun, and applause.

Because who knows where it might lead? At the very least, it’s a lot more exciting than performing in front of your bathroom mirror. Let’s ACT OUT together!

This FREE concert series on the downtown square brings you the best local and regional artists performing funk, blues, reggae, and country originals as the sun goes down. Kick back and soak in the melodies with the perfect Wednesday night activity. If you love music and sunsets, the Sunset Songs Series is for you! End your day on a melodic high note at these not-to-be-missed community concerts.

Fortune Child
Rock – Soul – Blues. Three fundamental sounds that power trio, Fortune Child, blend and mold to create serious sonic badassery. Over the course of one-year, Christian Powers (lead vocals/drums), Buddy Crump (guitarist), and Jon Ward (bassist) have begun to redefine the Rock genre while still holding true to their roots. Boasting powerful leads, long jams, and a genre-bending sound, the band is carving a path of its own.

In the short time that they’ve been together, Fortune Child has already taken to the stage with the likes of The Black Crowes, Joe Bonamassa, Cedric Burnside, Shovels & Rope, All Them Witches, King Buffalo, Jared James Nichols, Tuk Smith and many more to come. The group successfully released eight singles in 2023 and has a new album available this year, along with their first international tour this fall.

What’s a Silent Disco?!?
A silent disco is when people are dancing while listening to music through headphones. We will have two channels for you to listen to, so you can choose to listen to music from the 1970’s to 2010, or 2010-NOW

Dress Code: All white preferable – a white t-shirt will also do the trick!

Bonus: For a small donation, get tagged outside by one of our creative artists as they graffiti tag your white attire to glow in the dark. We will also have glow in the dark face painting and glow in the dark goodies for you to wear while you dance the night away!

Saxsquatch is a 7’ tall multi-instrumentalist, producer, and electronic music artist from North Carolina. He has accumulated over 3 million followers online through releasing music with legends such as John Oates, Billy Ray Cyrus, AND the band WAR.
