MCA's Block Party 2024

Marion Cultural Alliance’s, iconic fundraiser and exhibit Block pARTy, returns – bigger, bolder and ‘blockier’ than ever! Back by popular demand, this exhibit features 12 x 12 ‘blocks’ of art created by local and regional artists, designers, and creators. This year’s party is themed around the vibrant and colorful traditions of the Mexican holiday, Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), which is celebrated each year on November 1st. Themed attire is encouraged!

The month-long Block pARTy Exhibit launches with the VIP Reception, Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Brick City Center for the Arts from 5 – 7 pm. VIP guests will enjoy an evening of art, music, tapas, and libations surrounded by more than 75 pieces of original art. Each VIP guest’s name will be placed in a drawing. Tickets will be drawn randomly, and the guests will be able to select the artwork of their choice in the order their ticket is drawn. The paintings will remain on display throughout the month of November when the art will be available for pickup.

Following the VIP Reception, the Gallery will open to the public from 7- 8 pm, coinciding with the City of Ocala’s First Friday Art Walk. All remaining paintings will be priced at $75 each for the rest of the month.

VIP ticket prices are $50 (non-MCA members $55). Funds raised benefit MCA, its programs, and initiatives to support local artists, arts organizations and arts educators in Marion County.
