World Hijab Day

Wednesday was International World Hijab Day. It is observed in 140 countries worldwide each year, with the purpose of encouraging women of all religions and backgrounds to wear and experience the hijab for a day and to educate and spread awareness on why hijab is worn. Ollin Women International gathered with a group of women to don scarves and learn from a few women in the local hijab-wearing community. Delicious cake, tea and coffee were enjoyed from Soleil bakery, downtown Ocala.
