Dance Divine School of Ballet Presents “Micah: Who Is Like God?”

Micah was an Old Testament prophet whose name means, who is like God? The main theme of the book is God’s judgment and redemption. The ballet contrasts these themes, intertwining them into a ballet of exquisite beauty. 

Micah was filled with the power of the Spirit of the Lord as he boldly declared Israel’s sin and rebellion. Jerusalem was reduced to ruins and God’s people were exiled to distant lands due to idolatry. Micah loved his people and the thought of their exile drove him to mourn and lament. Micah’s lament led to prayer, hope for restoration and praise. The great question Micah asks is one of the loveliest passages of Scripture. Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love. Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean! You will show us your faithfulness and unfailing love as you promised to our ancestors Abraham and Jacob long ago. Micah 7:18,19 NLT
